AFTER FOREHEAD LIFTING TEMPLE LIFTING

What should I do after the operation?
In order to avoid more extensive swelling, it is beneficial if you keep your head as still as possible for the first 48 hours and sleep with the upper portion of the body slightly raised.
The bandage on the head will usually be removed on the first or second day after the operation. At this point you can also wash your hair.
The skin of the forehead may feel numb at times and during the first few days you may experience some feelings of tension on the forehead.
When the bandage is removed, do not be shocked the first time you look at your face after the operation. Your forehead and eyes will be very swollen and discoloured. Some bruises may remain for 2 to 3 weeks.
Your surgeon will give you advice on what to do after your operation. This will include, for example, avoiding heavy physical work, not participating in sport, steam-baths or saunas for about 6 weeks and abstaining from excessive alcohol consumption.
The metal clips and sutures in the hair are normally removed approx. 8 days after the operation during an out-patient appointment.
After your forehead-temple lift the scars are hidden in your hair and fade with time so that they are scarcely visible in the end. However, wound healing is a slow process which progresses in stages.
Most patients are highly satisfied with the results of a forehead-temple lift. Often patients have not realised how much older drooping eyebrows and lines on the forehead made their face look until they see how much younger and healthier they appear after this operative intervention.
