AFTER BREAST ENLARGEMENT (BREAST AUGMENTATION; AUGMENTATION MAMMAPLASTY)

What should I do after the operation?
After the operation the front wall of the breast will be tense and painful for a few days. The bandage and the drains will usually be removed on the first day after the operation and it is recommended that you wear a specially fitted bra.
The sutures are usually removed about 8 days after the operation; however the swelling in your breast may last for 4 – 8 weeks. After this period of time your breast will have attained its final shape and size. After a few days, normal daily activities can be resumed, depending on how physically strenuous they are. You should continue to wear your specially fitted bra as instructed by your surgeon.
At first your breasts will be extremely sensitive to touch, but this will subside after 2-3 weeks.
Initially the incision scars will be firm and slightly reddened. The scars will remain reddened for about 6 months, before beginning to blend into the surroundings, fade and, as a rule, take on the colour of the surrounding skin.
After breast enlargement, the breast will be fuller with natural firmness and contours.
Your decision to have breast enlargement carried out is a highly personal and intimate decision which not everyone may understand.
However, the most important factor is what YOU think of it and the expectations YOU have of such an operation.
If your expectations have been fulfilled after a breast enlargement, then the operation was a success for you.
