SECONDARY RECONSTRUCTION

Secondary breast reconstruction, breast restoration
Secondary reconstruction is an option for every patient, in principle. Following amputation there is on the one hand a deficit of skin and on the other hand a lack of breast volume. Both must be replaced.
In the expander technique, skin is gained by gradual stretching and the breast contour is attained by inserting a silicon gel implant.
In the use of autologous tissue, the missing skin is replaced by skin from another region of the body e.g. back, lower abdomen or buttocks and the breast volume is built up from muscle, fatty tissue and skin.

Secondary reconstruction of the right breast with a silicon gel implant positioned on the right under the breast muscle and latissimus dorsi flap before the transposition of the latissimus dorsi flap and fixing to the lower pectoral border and the submammary fold with graft fitted.
