THE FOREHEAD LIFT, TEMPLE LIFTING (OPERATION)

How is the operation carried out?
For a forehead-temple lift (forehead lifting, temple lifting) your hair does not need to be shaved. The procedure for forehead-temple lifts has been revolutionised by the introduction of minimally invasive endoscopic operation techniques.
Whereas previously a very long incision from one ear to the other through the hair was required, nowadays several small 1 to 1.5 cm long incisions are all that is needed to insert the endoscope and the instruments.
The small skin incisions are positioned in the hair behind the hairline so that they are scarcely visible after the operation.
After the eyebrows have been repositioned, the skin is fixed to the small skin incisions in the hair with sutures and / or small screws for about 1 week.
Finally a head bandage is applied.
Which form of anaesthetic is used?
The operation can be carried out under either local anaesthetic or general anaesthetic. The form of anaesthetic selected by your plastic surgeon depends both on the extent of the intervention as well as which form of anaesthetic you prefer.
