AFTER WRINKLE TREATMENT

What should I do after treatment with hyaluronic acid products?
Immediately after the injection a small bruise may form at the injection site. This can be concealed under light make-up and usually disappears after two to three days. In the hours immediately following the injection, the injection sites should not be manipulated with bare hands (rubbed, pressed, massaged) to avoid smear infections. In order to prevent any alteration in pigmentation, exposure to sunlight and the solarium should be avoided for 48 hours after treatment. During the initial four days cosmetic treatments and saunas which stimulate the metabolism are also to be avoided so that the breakdown of the hyaluronic acids is not inadvertently accelerated. Once the slight skin irritations from the injections have subsided you will immediately notice the results.
Following treatment you will examine your face more critically and, like an Old Master examining his work of art, you will never be completely satisfied. Make a note of the changes you would like to see so that we can concentrate on these in the following treatment. After the initial treatment you should return for a follow-up consultation without fail. One of the great advantages of treatment with hyaluronic acid products is the fact that you can shape your own face yourself, experience treatment fully conscious and can reverse the effects.
Normal daily activities or work can be resumed immediately after treatment. You can also shower immediately following treatment, wash or apply light make-up. However, saunas or UV radiation from the sun or in a solarium should be avoided and you should refrain from strenuous physical work, any movement upside-down and sport on the following two days. The injection sites should not be massaged by hand to avoid any smear infection or undesirable distribution. In the event that gentle pressure has to be applied to the injection site by hand, this should be done with a swab. If, contrary to expectations, a slight haematoma (bruising) occurs or the swelling lasts longer than two to three hours, a homeopathic dose of arnica can be taken before the next treatment.
