AFTER AN UPPER ARM LIFT

Brachioplasty, upper arm lift, post-operative treatment
Immediately after the operation painkillers are administered to ensure the rest and relaxation needed for healing. To prevent blood clots and embolisms, thrombosis bandages and other preventative means are applied.
Healing of the skin and reduction in swelling takes about 2-3 weeks, however final healing can only be expected after several weeks. In the first 6-8 weeks, patients should move with care and avoid excessive, sudden tension on the lines of the scars. Sporting activities can be gradually increased after 5 weeks.
Healing should be supported with suitable skin care e.g. Panthenol ointment. Absorbable sutures dissolve; other stitches are removed after about 3 weeks. Before checking out of the clinic you will be informed about other individual post-operative treatment measures.
